Pricing
AYU provides your child with a unique opportunity to receive high-quality instruction and access to the University of Arizona campus. The cost of each camp is directly related to the level of instruction, the materials cost and the position and education of the instructors. The camps offer students the chance to work directly with top researchers, faculty and talented graduate students, and experienced teachers. In order to assist you in evaluating the cost of each camp, we include the cost per hour next to individual camp prices. When you consider the advantages your child receives by attending AYU, the cost is actually much lower than or equivalent to what you would pay for many other summer programs offered in the Tucson area.
Registration
Registration for AYU camps is handled on a first-come, first-serve basis. The process is simple:
1. Choose the camp and sessions you want.
2. Select the camps for the grade level your child will enter in
Fall 2013.
3. Fill out the registration form with your preferences. Please provide all information
requested, in case we need to contact you.
4. Submit payment.
5. You're ready for a summer of discovery!
Registration forms can be completed online or downloaded from our website. Online, phone, walk-in, mail and fax registrations will be taken until camps are filled. We’ll confirm your registration by email with a payment receipt. Once an Arizona Youth University session begins, we can make schedule changes—if space is available—no later than the beginning of the second day of camp.
You may change your child’s registration to a different program (for example, from Engineering Robotics Camp to Computer Camp), if space is available, for a $25 transfer fee plus any cost difference in camp fees. Be aware that many camps fill quickly so register as early as possible.
Deadlines
Registration continues until the camp/program is full or until the Wednesday before the camp starts. If there is insufficient enrollment, a decision to cancel the camp/program is made at least two weeks prior to the camp start date.
Confirmation
For online registrations: Once a student’s registration is processed and paid, a computer-generated payment receipt and confirmation email is sent to the parent in the child’s name. The parent will be called if there is a problem with the registration or if more information is needed to process the registration. If you do not receive a confirmation letter and payment receipt via email within one (1) week of submitting your registration, call our Student Services Center at 520-621-7724 to request that another confirmation be sent.
Payment Plan
You can secure your son or daughter's placement in an AYU program with a minimum non-refundable $75 deposit per child, per camp at the time of registration and then pay the rest in installments. The cost of the camp must be paid in full no later than 14 days before the start of the camp or program. If you have made payments beyond the deposit amount and later decide that your child will not attend AYU, we will refund all but $75. If you have questions, call the Student Services Center at 520-621-7724.
Refunds and Withdrawals
We will inform you before the first day of camp of any schedule changes. If your plans change after you've registered for Arizona Youth University and your child will not be participating as planned, please let us know as soon as possible. You’ll be helping us run Arizona Youth University more efficiently and your child’s cancellation could open up a spot for another child.
REFUND SCHEDULE
If you cancel your child’s registration:
* More than 14 days before session begins: Full refund, less $50.
* Within 14 days before session begins or after June 1: NO REFUND
Withdrawal requests must be made in writing prior to the start of the camp. The request may be faxed to 520-621-3269; mailed to the University of Arizona Outreach College, P. O. Box 210158, Tucson, AZ 85721-0158; or submitted in person at the UA Outreach College, University Services Building, Room 322, 888 N. Euclid Ave., Mon – Fri, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Please allow up to eight weeks to process refunds. NO refunds will be provided once the camp has begun. If Arizona Youth University cancels a class/program, a full refund of tuition and fees will be made approximately six weeks from the date of cancellation.
AYU charges $25 for returned checks.
No refunds are available:
* For sessions already in progress
* If the on-site administrator deems it necessary to remove a
child for disruptive behavior
* For missed classes

How can we receive a current AYU brochure?
Anyone who has attended one of our programs within the last two years will receive a print brochure in the mail. The most current brochure will be posted on our website sometime in early March. If you’d like to be placed on our email list to receive notice when the new brochure is available, fill out the Online Request Form.
Is financial assistance available?
Currently, financial assistance is available on a limited basis for up to half of the tuition cost. If your child’s attendance at AYU will not be possible without assistance, please fill of the scholarship form online or download it and mail it to University of Arizona Outreach College, 888 N. Euclid Ave., P.O. Box 210158, Tucson, AZ 85721-0158, Attention: AYU Scholarship Committee. If you have further questions, call our Student Services office at 520-621-7724. You will be notified by May 20, 2013 about our decision regarding financial assistance for your child. All scholarship information and forms are located on our website and can easily be downloaded.
Why are some camps cancelled?
All of our classes/program are enrollment-based. If there are not enough students enrolled in a camp, it will be cancelled. Parents will be notified of the cancellation at least two weeks prior to the start date. In an effort to avoid cancellations, we recommend that parents network among their friends, children's friends, neighbors, and community and work groups.
